[Opinions] Names from 2005 5th graders’ 2025 predictions
I was reading a fun article from 2005 about fifth graders’ predictions of 2025. Some where quite accurate (grocery shopping from your house, pocket-sized computers), while some we still have a while to go with (teleportation, everything being free, hover cars, talking with aliens)! Anyway, here were the names from the article, what do you think?
Amanda
Barrington
Chandler
Danielle
Haley
Hannah
Jackie
Jacob
Jesse
Jordan
Kacie
Lindsay
Maddie
Natalie
Patrick
Rian
Ross
Sydney

Pretty close to my age—I was a 3rd grader in 2005.I definitely remember knowing a couple of Chandlers, Danielle was quite popular, Hannah, Jacob, and Maddie.Barrington ahead of the curve with a surname first name!I do remember more gender neutral names like Jordan, Jesse, etc. being popular. I remember from elementary school a boy and a girl both named Logan, Quinn (boy), Adrian (girl).
The last of the J-names! Not a lot there that I like, but nothing truly awful either, though Kacie and Maddie come close. I like Lindsay, Patrick and Ross, and prefer Daniel to Danielle, but as fem forms go, it's OK.
I like Danielle, Jacob, Maddie, and Natalie.
