[Opinions] Zurab
Recently I thought about Euromaidan, and I remembered Zurab Khurtsiya. One of Euromaidan protesters who was killed. He is from Georgia, but he died for Ukrainian freedom.

I don’t mind it. I don’t love the B ending, but I think names that start with Z are fun.
Honestly I'm seeing all of these names and am not really sure how to appropriately pronounce them.In general, I don't love names that end with a "B" - I actually don't love the "B" sound in general, but ending a name with a "B" is especially grating to me.
I'm not Jewish, but I've always rather liked the phrase, "May his memory be a blessing," - so may the memory of Zurab Khurtsiya be a blessing to all those fighting for Ukrainian freedom.
I like it. It is foreign sounding but I thought of it as Arabic or Persian before you posted it was Georgian.
It is derived from Persian name.
It's very handsome! I went to college with a lovely Georgian guy named Zurab "Zuka."
I don't like it as much, sounds harsh. 😐
I don't like the name Zurab, I prefer the name Sohrab over Zurab.
I looked up the meaning and history. It's quite a tragic, albeit poetic name. The context you describe adds to it. It's difficult to critique the name of someone who is essentially a martyr. Names in my own culture are informed by French, Dutch and German traditions, so Zurab sounds quite foreign to me. It's a name I would use in my novel, especially given the context and history. I like the version Sohrab.
