Thanks for informing me! I hadn't heard of Spiro Agnew (I'm not American. Am interested in the recent history and politics of the US, though, but I'm not familiar with him yet), but he certainly doesn't sound like someone I'd like to have as anyone's namesake, being the leftist I am.
I take you'll advice and stick to Spyridon (and Spyro & Spyros) from henceforth :-)

Well, outside the US, it wouldn't be such a problem--but if you're interested in the Vietnam War, you'll run into our "friend" Agnew. He disgusts me.
Spyridon used to be one of my absolute favourites. I think it's just fabulous. :)
