I love it but only for a boy (it is listed as a male name on here, it means 'lord' and it's not a surname and was the name of a MALE saint.)

What do you mean Tierney "is not a surname"? It certainly is; there is presently a congressman from Massachusetts named John Tierney, and there was a famous actress named Gene Tierney, to give just two examples:
