There are names of places, like
Virginia,
Georgia,
Carolina,
Adelaide, which are after a person. So they are not felt as "place names". I believe that
Georgia was after
King George,
Carolina after
King Charles,
Virginia after
Queen Elizabeth I (sometimes called the "Virgin
Queen).
Paris is actually a perons's name in Greek mythology (he was a prince of
Troy).
But Londen feels like a placename only. And Seattle does not even sound good. To me, it sounds very abrupt and not handsome enough to be a fn.
"You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."
"It does not become me to make myself smaller than I am." (
Edith Södergran 1891-1923)
