I wasn't sure who she is and then remembered that Zinka Kunc married Predrag Milanov. Zinka and Milka Trnina (btw, the chocolate brand was named after her) are considered our greatest opera singers. The name comes from Rozina (from Rosina) via the diminutive form Rozinka. It's not used much now and was most popular in 1950s/60s.ETA: It could also be derived from any name ending in -zina-> -zinka, like: Terezina, Agnezina, Alojzina, Frozina, Fruzina, Eufrozina, Eufruzina, Krizina, Tomazina...

Excellent, thank you very much! I really like all the -zina names. Croatia has a fantastic name-pool. And that's fascinating about the opera singer/ chocolate connection. Maybe that's why I've always liked Milka so much, because it subconsciously reminded me of chocs?

Apparently the chocolate factory owner was a big fan of the singer. The chocolate is very popular here and Milka (the name) is hardly ever used now (I went to high school with one and she was named after her grandmother, so choco is the first thing people think of with Milka.
