[Opinions] Re: Spurgeon
I've seen this on Free Jinger this morning and had to see if it was discussed here! It's a terrible, terrible name. Not just weird but ugly sounding. If they wanted to honor this theologian, Charles is a perfectly decent name.- Formerly known as Murasaki-Some thoughts and recipeshttp://italianlaowaigirl.blogspot.com/http://lagerusalemmecucinata.blogspot.com/

They obviously wanted the honoring aspect to be more apparent. Charles could be for anyone, Spurgeon more quickly communicates who they're referencing.

I know but it's ugly as heck. They could have named him Charles Spurgeon and used Charles.

I wonder if Charles was too Darwin?

Hadn't thought of that. It's not the first association I have with Charles myself.
