i tend to like names that are often seen as clunky and old-ladylike, but Gertrude is one i still haven't warmed up to. it's definitely the "rude" sound for me. "ood" sounds in general are a hard sell, esp in English, lol.
i've been meaning to read Gertrude Stein's stuff for the longest though, so that may change my mind. and the Dutch pronuncuation + Finnish form Kerttu are adorable.
