Mandie Josephine, Kelsey Elizabeth and Clare Anne are five-year-old twins from California. Their parents were killed earlier this year. Mandie loves music, Clare loves animals and Kelsey loves art; Kelsey is also dyslexic. They are all best friends; Clare tends to be the loudest of the three.
Nikki-Jane Rose is a ten-year-old girl from Manchester, England. She was diagnosed with leukaemia at age two, and has had treatment on and off ever since then. Nikki-Jane may or may not live for very much longer; however, she remains upbeat and positive. Nikki-Jane loves to sing and act, and her ambition is to be an actress, like her hero, Miley Cyrus. She is kind, generous, and has an infectious happiness.
Carlo Juan is a baby boy from Spain. His parents were abusive, and he was taken into care. Rowan has no hobbies, interests or languages yet, but his grandparents would like it if he learnt a little Spanish.
Briget Joanna is a sixteen-year-old girl from Ireland, and goes by the nickname "Nyx". She is fiercely intelligent, with a particular love for classical music Ancient Greece, but has always been something of a tearaway, and never got along with her parents. When they found out that she was pregnant, they kicked her out. Bridget/Nyx plays the violin and adores reading, and thinks she would like to keep her baby.
