[Opinions] Re: Quatermain
I think it would be an awesome name for a character! Or a fish.
In real life I think it's best as a middle name, since it's so long and uncommon.
What's the meaning/origin? It makes me think "quarter main (hand in french)", so a quarter of a hand? I'm liking it as a mn with shorter fn's, like these:Johannes Quatermain
Etienne Quatermain
Silas Quatermain
Padraig Quatermain
Elias Quatermain
Harry Quatermain
Oliver Quatermain
Olivier Quatermain
Alder Quatermain
Nicolas Quatermain
Ian Quatermain
Peter Quatermain
Pierre Quatermain
Jean-Pierre Quatermain
Victor Quatermain
Lucard Quatermain

I don't know what the actual etymology is, but Allan Quatermain is a literary character. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allan_QuatermainI quite like Padraig Quatermain, Harry Quatermain, Alder Quatermain, Nicholas Quatermain, and Ian Quatermain.
