I like Silvester a lot, and Silver is a natural nickname so yes I like it for a boy
I think their was a teen show a few years back with a female Silver, but can't remember which.
I much prefer Drew as a nickname for Andrew than Andy which I find so dull on a man. I like Andie for a girl though. I like Alfied
