I think Emmeline is nice, too, but I think this more French spelling really strikes an artful chord with my soul and I'd be more likely to spell it with one m now, by default.
I was in NYC, and I looked in the Macy's display window that they did for the holidays, and one of them was all letters to Santa; one obviously antique French letter was in the tastefully disheveled heaps with the return address written in beautiful cursive, simply saying "Emeline" -- I have not been able to stop thinking about Emeline since that tiny scrap of a moment got emblazoned in my brain. It's funny how names can stick in your head from the tiniest of minutiae.
Any opinions on Emeline?
