WDYT? i've been seeing
Storm so much lately, and i always thought that was a bit odd of a name. it's not just a word with a negative connotation, it's a word you see OFTEN, in terrible news stories. i feel like it'd be sad for a small kid to constantly see their name in headlines talking about deaths and destruction.
i can see the appeal, though. it's a bit poetic, and is often given with the intent that the bearer stand up for themself and be strong and expressive.
so i've been warming up a bit to
Tempest*- i wouldn't use it, but it's kind of cool. it's not really seen used anywhere but poetry and literature, so it doesn't have the connotations that
Storm does, despite being the same thing. i also like how it has such a different and interesting sound- very consonant heavy, yet somehow still soft.
i like
Temperance a lot too, for the similar sound. though that name has a pretty opposite meaning lol. i thought it'd be funny to make a character named
Temperance, who goes by
Tempest as some cheesy sort of rebellion. or- of you're REALLY bored and don't mind pranking your kids for life- you can name twins
Tempest and
Temperance. and they'll hate you, once they know what words mean, lol.
anyway though, wdyt of
Tempest? usable? prefer
Storm? what would you combo it with?
* hah get it, warming, storm, hah get it. get it. get it
