I kinda like
Haru. Tho it would feel strange for me to use a Japanese name.
I knew a Harshita and that is a neat name imo. Can't really do that either though.
Harlan is alright for a guy.
I think if had to name a daughter something that started with a Hah(r) sound I'd go with Holland. I guess it's kind of dumb, to name a person Holland? but it's appealing somehow, and not outrageous - and it's not objectively any dumber than naming a person "harper," as a personal name, is it?
If it has to be Har- spelling ... I dunno, I'd invent a name. I'll try to think of one and if I do, I'll edit it in.
-per names for gals: I dunno, -per words in general are not namey at all to me, they have a certain feeling to them... Whippersnapper. Super duper. Jeepers creepers. I dislike
Juniper and
Piper, a lot. The only other one that jumps to my mind is Tipper, as in Tipper
Gore of "parental advisory" infamy. I grew up hearing about her, so the name seems sorta normal to me and feels like it works (though I don't like it at all, it seems less annoying than
Piper and
Juniper). Vesper is annoying too, sounds too much like whisper and
Hester. I don't mind
Jasper and
Caspar for guys, probably because I have known of them as names for longer than I can remember.
