Hermia, Hebe, Hikari, Harmonia, Hedda, Harpa, Hōkūlani, Humayra, Hecate, Hemera, Hasmik, Haydée, Helve, Henrietta, Hypatia, Hertha, Hajnalka, Honorata, Herais, Hortensia, Heledd, Hathor, Hyacintha, Hermione, Hadassah, Honesta, Helionna, Helicia, Hermantia, Hanaé, Hidayah, Heliotrope, Hellivesa, Halimeda, Helmina, Hanneliese, Helaine, Hrafndís, Heliabel, Hedone, Helyenors, Haella, Heloys, Hieronyma, Helissent, Hanalei, Honorée, Helewise, Hilaritas, Hesper.
Not a very promising letter. I love Helen, Harriet and Heather, and could probably live with Hilary - one L only! But the rest aren't even also-rans; they aren't even in the race. Heidi is fine in German, but not otherwise.
Isn't Heidi pronounced the same in German and English?
I certainly hope so! I've only ever heard the German-sounding version; all the Heidi people I've ever met have been either German or Afrikaans, and although the -ei- in Afrikaans sounds like AY rather than EYE, they've all sounded the same.
