that's very true. i wouldn't use Temperance for that reason- as great a virtue as it is, you have to get angry sometimes, and the bearer will inevitably have to put up with reminders about the irony. which might be extra annoying when it's in response to her being angry, and so feel very belittling. many people may not even realize what the word means, though.Chastity though is a whole new level. that's not even a virtue you can explain to a little kid (or well, what most Christian moms would be willing to explain), so she'll have to wait what, 12 years to know what her own name means? and once she and her peers know, it's so embarrassing, it reminds everyone who meets her about exactly what the word warns against. she'll think about and hear about it far more than she would if she weren't named that.--------https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/180731/115070 my pnl
