Meaning "New Aquitaine".Nouvelle-Aquitaine is the largest region of France, spanning the west and southwest of the mainland. It was created from the three former regions of Aquitaine, Limousin and Poitou-Charentes, and was provisionally known as Aquitaine-Limousin-Poitou-Charentes.
