Such a pity that there was such an avalanche of Lindas unleashed upon the world all at once. But simply as a name, stripped of associations, it really is lovely. In 1940, other things being equal, I'd quite probably have used it! I don't expect it'll ever come back in great numbers - that moment's past - but it would be very nice to meet a young one.

Maybe the other great avalanche that was Lindsay was a kind of jazz variation on Linda, in which case it would serve to delay Linda's comeback. I think of them as totally different, but I bet most folks don't.
