Meaning & History
Means "flowery, ornate" in Spanish, a short form of either la Florida meaning "the flowery one" or Pascua Florida meaning "flowery Easter" (a Spanish name for Palm Sunday, so named because the region was discovered by Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León on that day in 1513). This is the name of an American state.
